Predominantly Merlot with a piccola of Cabernet; on the nose notes of mint, coffee powder, cassis and pine forest come across. On the palate elegant tannins give way to a deep velvety long-lasting finish.

Desiderio was a bull which lived on Avignonesi’s Capezzine farm more than one hundred years ago & was the largest bull in Tuscany at that time.

Named after the original founders of the estate, the Avignonesi family, the winery has undergone an exciting change in recent years. Acquired by Virginie Saverys in 2009, Avignonesi has become a leader in biodynamic viticulture in Italy, crafting organic wines that are truly authentic to their origins yet singular and unique.
