The Pillar Box Tree Merlot 2009

A soft, rounded almost velveteen quality combines well with the natural earthy spice of South African red wines. Aged in American oak barrels to add a dimension of warm, toasty flavour. It is rare to see unblended Merlot from South Africa, but it works extremely well, with the natural voluptuousness of the variety marrying the natural heartiness and earthiness of the region. Long, powerful, gentle fruit which is a must for lovers of indulgent red wine styles.
